Car accidents in Las Vegas: what to know

Many of the car accident cases we see in Las Vegas start on I-15, US-95, the 215 Beltway and Las Vegas Boulevard, and at busy intersections on surface streets. Rear-end crashes, left-turn crashes and crashes with distracted or impaired drivers cause many serious injuries.

Nevada rules that shape your case

Shared fault. Nevada reduces your compensation by your share of the blame. If your share is greater than the share of the people you are suing, you recover nothing.
Insurance limits are low. Nevada's minimum liability coverage is $25,000 per person and $50,000 per crash for injuries. Your own uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage can matter.
Deadlines vary. How long you have depends on the type of case and who is responsible. Claims against a government agency, such as the RTC, NDOT, Clark County or a city, can have deadlines measured in months. Call early.

Where your case is handled

Most Las Vegas injury lawsuits are filed in the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County. Most cases settle before trial. When an insurer will not pay fairly, we are ready to try the case.
