Injury cases in Las Vegas: what to know

Las Vegas mixes heavy local traffic, millions of visitors, rideshare pickups and large hotel and casino properties. Each of those creates its own kind of injury case. This page explains the Nevada rules that matter most and what you can do now.

The roads

Clark County recorded 296 traffic deaths in 2024 and 235 in 2025, according to preliminary figures from the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety. Crashes on I-15, US-95, the 215 Beltway and Las Vegas Boulevard are a large part of the cases we see.

Nevada rules that shape your case

• Shared fault can reduce or bar recovery. Nevada reduces your compensation by your share of the blame. If your share is greater than the share of the people you are suing, you recover nothing. How fault is assigned matters, and that is our fight.
• Insurance limits are low. Nevada's minimum liability coverage is $25,000 per person and $50,000 per crash for injuries. Serious injuries often cost more, so your own uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage can be important.
• Phones. Nevada law bans texting and handheld phone use while driving. A driver's phone records can help prove fault.
• Deadlines vary. How long you have depends on the type of case and who is responsible. Some claims, such as those against a government agency, have shorter or special deadlines. Call early, and we find the deadline that applies to you.
