She began her legal career as an intern at the DeKalb County Public Defender's Office, representing clients in felony and misdemeanor matters, where she developed strong negotiation skills.

Her move to personal injury law is personal. While she was studying for the Georgia bar exam, she and members of her family were involved in car accidents.
