Summary: 5 numbers

  • 235 traffic deaths in Clark County in 2025, down from 296 in 2024 (−20.6%). Source: Nevada Office of Traffic Safety, preliminary.
  • 153 of 235 (65%) were people walking, biking or riding a motorcycle, scooter or moped. In 2024 the figure was 176 of 296 (59%).
  • 149 deaths in Clark County from January through September 2026, compared with 186 in the same months of 2025 (−19.9%).
  • 380 traffic deaths in Nevada in 2025, down from 420 in 2024. Clark County’s 235 deaths were 62% of the 2025 state total.
  • 53% of Nevada’s fatal crashes from 2020 to 2024 happened at night, and 49% from Friday through Sunday.

These numbers come from the State of Nevada’s own reports. They describe deaths, not how safe a road, a driver or a way of travel is. The reports have no traffic counts, so they cannot show risk per trip.

1. Clark County: fewer deaths in 2025, but not among people outside cars

The Nevada Office of Traffic Safety lists 235 traffic deaths in Clark County in 2025 and 296 in 2024. Fatal crashes fell from 270 to 229.

The drop was not even. Vehicle occupant deaths fell 31.7% (120 to 82). Pedestrian deaths fell 16.5% (97 to 81). Motorcyclist deaths fell 4.8% (62 to 59). Bicyclist deaths rose from 11 to 12. Because vehicle occupant deaths fell the most, pedestrians, bicyclists, motorcyclists and riders of scooters and mopeds made up a larger share of all deaths: 65% in 2025, up from 59%.

The data have no information on how many people drive, walk or ride at each hour, so they do not show that a time of day or lighting condition is riskier per trip. They show when deaths happened.

5. What to do after a crash in Nevada

  1. Call 911 if anyone is hurt. Get medical care, even if you feel fine.
  2. Report the crash to police and ask for the report number.
  3. Photograph the scene, vehicles, injuries and any cameras nearby.
  4. Do not give a recorded statement to the other driver’s insurer before you speak with a lawyer.
  5. Keep your medical records and bills.

This is general information, not legal advice for your crash. Deadlines apply to injury claims in Nevada, and claims against a government agency can have different rules. See our Las Vegas car accident lawyer page, or contact us.

6. About the data (methodology and limits)

  • Sources: Nevada Office of Traffic Safety, State Fatal Report for 2025 (report dated April 6, 2026); State Fatal Report for September 2026 (data as of September 30, 2026); and the 2026 Nevada Traffic Safety Crash Facts. All are published on the state’s Zero Fatalities crash data page.
  • We copied the published numbers into tables and did not change them. We did not have row-level crash records. The tables are the firm’s transcriptions, re-checked against the reports.
  • The state labels 2024 and 2025 data preliminary: it does not necessarily include final reports, and 2025 is not final until the federal release in 2027. Numbers can change between reports. The Crash Facts report and the monthly reports may show slightly different statewide totals for the same year.
  • Counts are of deaths, by the state’s road-user categories. “Vehicle occupants” and the other categories are the state’s own. The September 2026 category rows add to one more than the printed total.
  • Time of day, weekday and lighting are statewide for 2020 to 2024. Lighting is known for 1,785 of 1,798 fatal crashes.
  • No traffic-volume, population or exposure data were used. The counts do not show risk per trip, per mile or per person.
