Three People Injured In Kearny Mesa Propane Tank Explosion Accident

KEARNY MESA, CALIFORNIA (January 27, 2023) – Three people were injured in a Kearny Mesa propane tank explosion accident at a Cubic HQ event.

San Diego County officials are saying that the accident took place around 12:45 p.m. on Thursday. A 5-gallon propane tank was being used to heat a portable grill.

There was some type of corporate event for Cubic HQ. The propane tank spontaneously exploded on the patio area.

Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene of the accident in order to help all of the victims. Two contractors for the catering company were critically injured and taken to the hospital.

One of the victims was a Cubic contractor. A full investigation into the Kearny Mesa propane tank explosion remains ongoing at this time.
