OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA (March 16, 2023) – At least two people were injured in an Oakland car accident with a Red Cross van along Interstate 880 just north of 66th Avenue.

Alameda County officials are saying that the collision took place around 10:46 p.m. Wednesday. A Red Cross van and a Nissan Xterra SUV collided in the roadway.

Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene of the collision in order to help the victim. Two people were injured and taken to the hospital.

A fire department official also took action to preserve the boxes of blood being transported in the Red Cross van.
