Liability For San Mateo Car Accidents

Parking lots lack many of the safety features that roadways have. Drivers not only have to keep an eye out for other vehicles but pedestrians as well. According to the National Safety Council, “Tens of thousands of crashes occur in parking lots and garage structures annually, resulting in hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries. And, around the holidays, parking lots become even more dangerous.” There are a number of factors that could contribute to a parking lot accident:

  • Pedal confusion
  • Speeding
  • Distracted driving
  • Inclement weather

It can be difficult to know what to do after a collision, but it is important to remember that accident victims have rights. Any person that is injured in a car accident may have the ability to pursue damages through a bodily injury claim. Damages in a civil claim can help cover lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. A car accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
