OKK Trading Fined for Toys In Product Liability Case
The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that a Los Angeles toy company will pay a 665,000 fine for importing dangerous toys that violate safety standards. According to reports, the Los Angeles toy importer was responsible for importing selling toys with high levels of lead. OKK Trading lTd, the company involved in this product liability case, claims that they were unaware that they were in violation of safety standards regulations.
According to the OKK Trading, no reports were received regarding injury that resulted from toys or the manufactured product. Still, evidence shows that OKK imported and sold toys that were mad of more than .06% lead, a proportion which is in excess of federal safety standards. Other products manufactured by OKK including games, pacifiers, and rattles were also said to violate federal safety standards. Many of these other products were found to pose choking hazards, or were not labeled according to child safety standards.
