For more than two years after a Chicago-area collision, the defendant’s insurance company made no settlement offer to the injured client.

Shortly before trial, the insurer offered $10,000. TORKLAW attorney Emma Smoler proceeded as lead trial counsel and presented the client’s case to a jury.

The jury’s decision

The jury returned a verdict of $415,875.68 for the client. This result was more than 41 times the insurer’s pretrial offer.

Trial-ready representation

This result shows why preparation matters when an insurance company does not make a fair offer. TORKLAW prepares cases for trial and gives clients the information they need at every stage of a claim.

Every case is different. Past results don't guarantee future results, and the amount recovered depends on the facts of each case.
