NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA (October 1, 2022) – A male bicyclist was tragically killed in a Newport Beach hit-and-run car accident on Jamboree Road by University Drive.

Orange County officials are saying that the accident took place around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. A bicyclist was traveling down the road when they were hit by a driver that fled the scene.

Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene of the collision in order to help the victim. Sadly, the bicyclist died as a result of his injuries.

A full investigation remains ongoing at this time.
