Pedestrian Hit When Jaywalking in San Diego
An unnamed woman, 45, was jaywalking in San Diego when she was struck by a car on Friday evening. As a result of the incident, she sustained a broken leg, a dangerous and potentially deadly brain bleed, and a pelvis fracture.
The accident occurred on the corner of two particularly active streets in the city’s Midway District, Lytton Street and Rosecrans Street. According to police and the Times of San Diego, the vehicle that hit her was a sedan driven by a young man, 26. The accident occurred at around 9 o’ clock on Friday night and the driver had not been drinking. He also wasn’t affected by any substances. The driver did continue along the intersection despite the red lights, which is when he struck the woman.
