Motorcyclist Riding Yamaha Killed In Long Beach Accident, Racing Suspected

23-year-old Edgar Toledo, who unfortunately died on Wednesday after a motorcycle accident, may have been racing, authorities believe.

On Wednesday, at around 7 p.m. in Long Beach, Toledo was driving on Santa Fe Avenue when he crashed into another car on the road, a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant. The Galant was turning left from Columbia Street when the two crashed at the intersection of Santa FeĀ  and Columbia.

Toledo was driving with another motorcycle alongside him before the crash took place, authorities say. Toledo’s motorcycle, a 2009 Yamaha, was moving very quickly as he progressed towards the intersection. Both motorcyclists apparently were racing or performing tricks on Santa Fe Avenue.

Tragically, Toledo died at the scene of the Long Beach motorcycle accident. The other car involved in the accident contained four occupants, a driver and three passengers, all of whom were hospitalized with injuries that were not life threatening.
