Continental Plane Crash in New York Leaves 49 Dead
This evening, a commuter plane carrying 48 passengers crashed in a suburban area of Buffalo, New York, killing all people on-board and an individual on the ground. Continental Airlines Flight 3407 was on its way from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey to Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
The plane crashed into a home causing a major fire which was left burning for hours.
The plane was a Q400 Bombardier and it went down 10 miles away from the airport just after 10 pm on Thursday night. Preliminary reports are suggesting that were were mechanical problems with the plane prior to the crash.
It appears that it was snowing and there were light winds in the area.
