Allen P. Wilkinson


 

Allen P. Wilkinson is a highly regarded legal scholar and is Of Counsel to the firm. In that role, Allen assists in managing the firm’s entire litigation portfolio bringing a unique perspective and more than 32 years of legal experience.

 

For more than 30 years, Allen has focused his practice on representing plaintiffs in various complex litigation cases including wrongful death claims, product liability, medical malpractice, aviation disasters and a wide spectrum of catastrophic personal injury cases.

 

After taking the California State Bar examination in July 1979, Allen went to work for 10 years for the renowned San Francisco attorney Melvin Belli, the preeminent trial lawyer of the mid-1900s. Belli’s skills as a trial lawyer earned him the title of “King of Torts” by Life magazine in 1954. Allen assisted Mr. Belli in the 1982 five-volume revision of Belli’s seminal work, Modern Trials, considered the Bible of personal injury law and trial practice and procedure.

 

In 1986, Allen co-authored with Belli the best-selling layman’s book,Everybody’s Guide to the Law. In 1992 Allen wrote the acclaimed lawyer’s reference book, the two-volume California Torts. In 2003, Allen wrote a second edition of Everybody’s Guide to the Law. In 2010, Allen wrote the book,Accidents Happen But Who’s Going to Pay the Bills? A Consumer’s Guide to the California Personal Injury and Wrongful Death System, with Reza Torkzadeh.

 

Allen is nationally recognized and has written a number of chapters to legal texts and dozens of articles for legal periodicals and magazines. He has appeared as a legal expert on more than 100 radio talk and news shows. Allen has the unique ability to translate complex legalese into plain English that the general public can easily understand. He is dedicated to making our communities safer, giving equal access to our justice system to those who cannot afford it and making a difference one case at a time.
